The Forward Studies Unit of the European Commission

The Forward Studies Unit has already produced wide-ranging reports on new issues which, as a result, have frequently found their way into the mainstream of the Commission's work.
The Forward Studies Unit has a house style and research method designed to bring out the diversity of Europe (shaping factors, shaping actors), developing an all-round and/or long-term view which makes it easier to secure consensus above and beyond particular national interests.
