This award recognizes prominent contributions by an individual who improved transatlantic bridge-building at the level of civil society. As the relationship deepens across the Atlantic, the civil societies of the European Union and United States must increasingly interact to ensure citizen involvement in directing how the process should develop to protect the human dimension.
