Summit on December, 17, 1999 White House, Washington DC, USA
The EU was represented by the President Martti
Ahtisaari of Finland (which holds the EU Council
Presisdency) and European Commission President
Romano Prodi.
They were joined by Finlands Prime Minister
Paavo Lipponen, the Finnish Trade Minister Kimmo
Sasi and European Trade Commissioner Pascal
Lamy.
The US delegation was led by President Bill
Clinton.
A US and a EU representative of the TAED, two
representatives of the Transatlantic Consumer
Dialogue (TACD) met the US and EU leaders on
15 December. At the meeting on 17 December the
TACD and TAED were likely to be given a total
of about 15 minutes to discuss with the Summit
leaders.
