This month, TIES dedicates its SPOTLIGHT section
to this increasingly important transatlantic
issue called ... Internet!
Far from trying to cover all Internet related
issues where US and EU approaches differ, we
are trying to give you an overview of the US
and EU resources available on the net, to focus
on some major questions (E-commerce, security,
taxation).
As always, the TIES team provides you with an
overview of the civil society players points
of views, as well as governmental and/or business
positions on both side of the Atlantic.
And if you want to share more information on
these issues, you can also attend our TIES
Annual Workshop "Is Internet Civil's Society'Best
Friend? A Transatlantic Perspective" (Paris,
6th/7th April 2000).
Next month, our Spotlight
will be "An Emerging Transatlantic Debate: Death
Penalty".
